Lose the Label: An Inspirational Guide to Breaking Free from the Labels We Place on Ourselves—and Letting God Define Who We Are

Kellie Spencer is a writer, speaker, and ministry leader with a heart for helping others discover who they are in Christ. A storyteller at heart, she combines biblical truth, personal experience, and compassionate insight to encourage readers to let go of the labels the world has placed on them and embrace the identity God has already written for them.

Kellie is a graduate of Florida Christian College, where she earned her degree in Counseling, and Johnson University, where she completed a degree in Business Administration. Her background in both counseling and ministry has shaped her passion for walking alongside others as they find healing, purpose, and hope in Jesus.

She and her husband, Lance, serve in their local church and are part of a blended family that daily reminds them of God’s goodness and grace.

Lose the Label is Kellie’s debut book—a heartfelt invitation to those who long to trade the names of the past for the new identity found only in Christ.

Lose the Label is a heartfelt journey of rediscovering who you truly are through God’s eyes. In a world quick to define us by our failures, pasts, or circumstances, author Kellie Spencer invites readers to lay down the false labels that weigh them down and embrace the identity God has already given them—beloved, chosen, and redeemed.

Through relatable storytelling, biblical insight, and personal reflection, each chapter explores a different label and pairs it with the story of a biblical character who experienced God’s redemptive rewriting of their identity. From Peter’s restoration after failure to the Samaritan woman’s encounter with grace, Lose the Label reminds us that God sees beyond what the world names us and calls us by something greater: our purpose in Him.

With warmth, vulnerability, and truth, Kellie shares not only the stories of Scripture but her own moments of wrestling with identity, doubt, and faith. Her message is simple yet life-changing: the labels you’ve carried are not the end of your story—Jesus is.

If you’ve ever felt unseen, unworthy, or too far gone, this book will remind you that your identity isn’t found in what you’ve done or what others have said about you—it’s found in who God says you are. It’s time to let go of the lies, step into grace, and lose the label.
