Becoming Mama by Michele Brezinski
Becoming Mama: A Holistic Doctor’s Guide to Thriving in Your Post-Baby Body is an honest conversation about the common changes women encounter after childbirth – including the physical changes that many women are too embarrassed to talk about. Things like urinary problems, awkward bulges, wild mood swings, and more are addressed in a straightforward way to help the reader understand why these changes happen and how they can be managed. This book is a truthful and sometimes humorous look at the unique issues women encounter in the months after having a baby.
In Becoming Mama the reader gains not only knowledge, but a sense of camaraderie through shared stories from other women about their experiences of the physical and emotional challenges of new motherhood. This book serves as a starting point for honest conversations with doctors and loved ones about the issues that develop after having a baby. It takes away the isolation and social stigma surrounding post-baby health issues and gives readers simple suggestions for how to move forward and create a life they love in this new season of motherhood.
