The Lied: Retirement Isn’t About Growth–It’s About Control

Adam brings over 10 years of experience in financial services, with a strong focus on people and service. A graduate of Niagara University, he holds a BFA in Theater and English Literature and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. As a Certified Financial Fiduciary, he is passionate about helping families gain clarity and confidence in retirement planning.

Outside of work, Adam’s greatest joy is his wife, Kelly, and their four children, Austin, Emilia, Maverick, and Scarlett. He enjoys time with his family—often at Disney World—as well as reading and staying active

This book has been a three-year journey rooted in one goal: better serving families in retirement. Along the way, I realized the biggest challenges aren’t about investments—they’re about mindset. I call it the “4 C’s.”

Too many retirees settle for comfort and complacency. But “I think we’ll be okay” isn’t a plan. What you truly need is control—knowing your income and taxes with confidence—and that requires clarity: clear goals, clear plans, and the right team.

Change is uncomfortable, especially after doing things the same way for decades. But letting fear guide your decisions can cost you, often benefiting the IRS more than your family.

This book is my attempt to help you move from comfort to control—and from complacency to clarity. God bless you all.
